Mentoring, Coaching and Facilitation
Alex has taught extensively at several Drama Schools including E15, Mountview and the Central School of Speech and Drama. She teaches Acting for Improv / Improv for Acting at the New Actors Centre. Raised in Barry, South Wales Alex passionate about who has access to the making of and experiencing of theatre. During lockdown she supported artists for Theatre Bristol organising online events around race, class and ageing in the industry. As an Associate of Improbable she co-led Generations project with Guy Dartnell working with elders of the Kings Cross community, as well as running several satellite open-space Devoted and Disgruntled events for the theatre community.
She developed the Birdhouse project- supporting the resilience of independent female theatre makers - which led to being invited to speak and chair at Cardiff’s first Women of the World at Wales Millennium Centre.
Also Alex is a proud mentor for Arts Emergency - which supports young people from working-class and under-represented backgrounds into careers in the arts.
